ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL POLICY

PLEASE NOTE:  THERE IS NO PARKING PERMITTED IN THE CIRCLE DURING PSR HOURS!

All students 4th grade and under are to be dropped off at their classroom AND PICKED UP FROM THE CLASSROOM.  Many teachers may need to speak with parents and this will enable them to have direct communication NO CHILD THIS AGE SHOULD EVER BE ALONE IN THE HALLS FOR OBVIOUS SAFETY REASONS.  St. Mary is NOT responsible for any situation that occurs prior to or following a class if a child this age is without parent supervision.    PARENTS…IF YOU ARE LATE TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD, YOU WILL FIND HIM/HER IN THE MAIN OFFICE.  WE WILL NEVER LEAVE A CHILD UNATTENDED IF YOU ARE LATE.  PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO BE HERE ON TIME.

If you are going to be late, PLEASE try to call the PSR office at 330-653-6512 ext. 248.  However, if you do not speak to an actual employee, please dial “0” for the receptionist.  He/She will see that the message is passed on.  It is very helpful if you give your child’s grade and teacher’s name.

5TH-8TH GRADE WILL BE DISMISSED WITHOUT PARENTS.  However, parents need to arrange with their children where they will meet them so both are not running around the church trying to find each other!

Any child 5th-6th can pick up a sibling 4th or younger.  Parents need to remind the older child to be sure to pick up all papers from the sibling’s room that need to go home.  In these cases, we STRONGLY recommend that parents still pick up their child from time to time should the teacher need to speak with them.

Teachers who have children in another class can arrange with their child’s teacher to allow him/her to WALK to their teaching parent’s class during dismissal.

If you have any questions regarding dismissal, please feel free to call Megan Kelley in the PSR office at 653-6512 ext. 248.  This dismissal format is more difficult for parents with more than one child, especially if their classrooms are located on two different floors.  Please understand that each child’s safety is our primary concern and we must have organization and parent involvement in the halls with this many children.  We do not want any lost children!
