St. Mary Church

On behalf of the staff and parishioners of St. Mary Parish, welcome to our family of faith!  If you have recently registered at St. Mary's we assume that you have either recently moved to the Hudson area, or that you have begun to worship at our parish.  In either case, you are by now aware of the fact that St. Mary's is a very large community.  This, unfortunately, can sometimes be overwhelming or intimidating for newcomers, especially those used to a smaller parish community.

To help acclimate you to the parish, therefore, and to serve as a formal welcome, we would like to alert you to two events sponsored by our parish council.  First is Ministry Sunday, held in late summer.  On this particular weekend, all of the organizations that make up St. Mary Parish are highlighted through displays in the upper hall (Education Wing).  This is a great way to get to know what's happening here at St. Mary's and how you might become involved.  Many former newcomers have told us that St. Mary's began to feel like "home" after they became involved in some spiritual, educational, or social activity.  Also, please note Welcoming Sundays (October 3, November 7, January 2, February 6, March 6, and May 1) are held after every mass on Coffee Sundays. Please take home a bulletin after Mass to familiarize yourself with these and other parish events.

I also encourage you to come and introduce yourself to me after Mass.  I look forward to recognizing you as one of the many "familiar faces" that make up this great parish community.  Please call if there is anything we can do to make your transition into the parish smooth or complete (e.g. sacramental preparation, marriage validation, annulment, etc.).

Again, welcome to St. Mary Parish!

In Christ,

Rev. Edward J. Kordas
