Lifelong Adult Ministry

(LAM)

The Lifelong Adult Ministry (L.A.M.) at St. Mary Parish has the main purpose to enrich senior adult's lives with opportunities for service to others, experiences of self-expression, meaningful work, and a closer relationship with God and fellow seniors.

The founding beliefs of L.A.M. :
**Spiritual and faith development is lifelong; it does not end at any particular age or life stage.
**Maturing adult life stages offer special opportunities for life span development.
**Lifelong adult faith development has been "under nourished" on the menu of all ministries of
       the Church.
**Lifelong Adult Ministry needs to be given the highest priority in the Church in the 21st  century.
**Maturing adults need opportunities for stimulating social interaction.
**As in any stage of life, mature adults need opportunities for wellness education and practice.

Who does this address?
**The activities L.A.M. addresses-----anyone over the age of 55 that has encountered any of the following:
Additional free time, retired or facing retirement, looking for growth, looking for challenging and stimulating activities, changing physical abilities, dealing with changes in life such as empty nest, death or role change.
