We are always on the lookout for more hands to help “lead our teens closer to Christ”! Please call Cathy Mullins (330) 655-7971 to offer your time and talents in any of these vital areas which support the LIFE TEEN program. _____PUBLICITY: Help with LIFE TEEN Newsletter (3x year) for all LIFE TEEN families. Invitations to new parish families to LIFE TEEN Mass
_____COMFORT: Assist with writing cards or letters when a show of thanks, sympathy or support is appropriate, through communication with the LIFE TEEN office. Organize meals for families in need.
_____HOSPITALITY (RETREATS, LIFE NIGHTS, EVENTS, D4L NIGHTS): Help organize food for the teens at LIFE TEEN events & LIFE Nights (shopping included; some cooking). Provide food for Disciples 4 LIFE Nights, and participate in food preparation for teen and/or adult retreats.
_____HOSPITALITY (MEETINGS): Provide refreshments for various LIFE TEEN meetings on an as-needed basis. Primarily involves purchase of bakery, snacks, soft drinks, water, etc. Involves setup and cleanup before and after meetings.
_____LITURGY: Help recruit liturgical ministers for Lectors, Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters and Gift Bearers. Provide parish training to Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, and Gift Bearers. Provide liturgical support to Fr. Damian if needed.
_____SERVICE: Participate in related local events (i.e., Habitat for Humanity, Haven of Rest, St. Al’s, Poinsettia Delivery, etc.).
_____APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT (ASP): Co-chair the summer mission trip into Appalachia.
_____HUDSON SERVICE PROJECT/HSP (“WARRIOR WEEK”): Help coordinate, organize, and/or run the week-long local service/retreat project (yearly in July). Preparation begins in the spring.
_____DISCIPLES 4 LIFE: Foster communication and involvement with parents and families. Help coordinate adult LIFE Nights, parent socials & parent orientation. Filter all that LIFE TEEN considers and commits to through the eyes of the family, always reminding all of us how to better reach the teens and their families.
_____PRAYER: Help with recruiting others for prayer coverage and/or signing up yourself for prayer. Prayer coverage includes, but is not limited to, LIFE Nights, retreats, special events, the Core Staff, the teens, and their families.
_____MARDI GRAS FUNDRAISER: Develop ideas and raise the funds to support LIFE TEEN as a non-fee-based program in accordance with the dictates of the parish, while simultaneously giving equal importance to the building up of community.
_______SPECIAL EVENTS: Assist Special Events Coordinator on as-needed basis for special outings (data entry and record keeping for Fall and Spring Retreats, Cedar Point, White Water Rafting, Right to Life March, etc.).
_____LIFE SUPPORT CO-CHAIR: Assist in co-chairing for LIFE Support, under which all of the above ministry areas fall. Involves communication & assistance as needed with the chairs in the various ministries.
_____CORE SUPPORT: This group consists of adults, including prior Core members, who directly support the ministry of Core Staff. Areas of interest in which you can choose to be involved include: LIFE Night set-up, Core meals after retreats, participation on planning team for LIFE Nights, Retreat Team support, planning and organizing outside fun events for teens and Core.
_____AFFIRMATION: Facilitate the Core Staff’s affirmation and celebration of teens involving:
· Ministry of Presence: researching, communicating, and providing details (maps, times, etc.) for events in area high schools in which St. Mary teens are participating;
· Database coordination of teen information;
· Help create internal “buzz” about LIFE TEEN program through our teen bulletin board, displaying information about LIFE Nights, teen photos , newspaper articles, Core Staff bio, etc.
